Application submission period

The MBA in Sustainability will start from the Academic Year 2024-2025. The notice of admission of new students, as well as detailed instructions and required documents will be published on this website during September. The Program Coordinating Committee decides, and the Department’s General Assembly approves the publication time of a relevant announcement to the interested candidates to the press. It determines:

  • Τhe necessary qualifications of candidates
  • The deadline for the submission of supporting documents
  • The address and method of submission of the necessary supporting documents

Required Documents

The required documents to be submitted by each candidate for the MBA in Sustainability are the following:

  1. Application form. The application form is available at the Department’s Secretariat or on the program’s website.
  2. Detailed curriculum vitae.
  3. Copy of degree or certificate of completion of studies *
  4. Bachelor`s Degree Transcript of Records, including the degree grade.
  5. Two letters of recommendation from faculty members of higher education institutions or senior business executives. The letters of recommendation may be submitted on a special form provided by the Program or as a separate letter in hard copy or electronically by the candidate to the Department Secretary or sent directly by email by the Professor.
  6. Copy of the Bachelor’s or Master thesis (if completed).
  7. Publications in peer-reviewed journals (if any).
  8. Prerequisite for selection is a very good knowledge of the English language as certified by language diplomas of an equivalent level accepted by the ASEP, as well as a degree from an English-speaking foreign university, several years of employment in a company where English is the dominant language, combined with an oral examination by the Tripartite Candidate Selection Committee or by a Tripartite Examination Committee appointed by decision of the Assembly within a reasonable period of time.
  9. Two-sided photocopy of the identity card
  10. Photographs
  11. A Solemn Declaration (https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/polites-kai- kathemerinoteta/upeuthune-delose-kai-exousiodotese or with an attestation of the authenticity of the signature at a KEP, or a Police Station in Greece) where the candidate  declares that the documents submitted and filed are true.

 
 

Candidates who will complete their studies in the examination period in September may also apply.

* Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree from a foreign institution must submit the degree to ensure that the foreign institution is listed in the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center. Foreign degrees are submitted and accepted under the applicable provisions. It is noted that if the place of study or part of the studies is declared to be within Greek territory, thedegree will not be recognized unless the part of the studies undertaken in Greek territory took place at a public higher education institution.

 

Candidate Evaluation Procedure

Standard check of supporting documents – documents

All the documents in each candidate’s file will be examined. If any of the required documents are missing or if one of them is not sufficient after the candidate has been notified and the document is not presented, the application will be rejected.

1st Phase evaluation

Each application is evaluated with an overall score of 100 out of 100. The selection process is carried out by the Candidate Selection Committee, which assesses the candidates according to the following criteria:

Evaluation of candidates against the following criteria (Excellent 100 with a weighting factor of 70%):

1) Grade of the first degree, including the grade of the thesis*, with a weighting factor of 70% * Or the average of the courses in the certificate of comprehensive grade.

2) Two letters of recommendation from faculty members (Each letter of recommendation in which the candidate is strongly recommended receives 5 points. An adverse letter of recommendation or no letter of recommendation receives 0

points. In all other cases, the candidate will receive points from the individual merit elements of the letters of recommendation), weighted by 10%.

3) Relevance of the origin department, including grades in courses relevant to the MBA in Sustainability, with a weighting of 20%.

2nd Phase evaluation

Interview (100 out of 100 with a weighting factor of 30%).

The Selection Committee may call candidates for an interview immediately after their application is Submitted. At least two of its members will be present. The interview will be conducted in person or, if this is not possible, by videoconference. Candidates will be assessed mainly on the basis of their communication skills, maturity, determination, and intention to apply for the specific MSc.

The interview weighting is 100%.

A list of the candidates with the highest scores in both phases is drawn up with a hierarchical ranking of successful candidates and, if applicable, runners-up.

If one or more students do not enroll, the runners-up, if any, will be invited to enroll in the Program according to their order in the approved ranking list.

The Departmental General Assembly will validate the final list of successful candidates.

Successful candidates must register with the Departmental Secretariat by a deadline set by the Secretariat after approval by the General Assembly.
